Acceptable use

Acceptable Use Policy

These are the rules for what you write in the Blue Canary app: alert notes, names, descriptions and anything else your coworkers can see. You agree to follow them when you create an account or add a note.

What notes are for

Write about your organization's equipment and alerts: what happened to a unit, what you did about it, and who handled it. People in your organization who can see that location can read what you write. Nobody outside your organization can see it in the app. If someone reports a note, Blue Canary reads it to review the report.

What you can't post

  • Harassment, threats or abuse aimed at anyone.
  • Personal information about other people that the work doesn't need, such as home addresses, health details or ID numbers.
  • Passwords, verification codes or Wi-Fi passwords.
  • Sexual, hateful or violent content.
  • Anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Spam, advertising, or anything unrelated to monitoring your equipment.

Report a problem

In the app, choose Report on an alert note, or go to Settings and choose Report a problem. Admins can also report a person from Manage users. You can also email reports@getbluecanary.com with your organization's name and what you saw.

We review every report. We may contact you if we need more detail.

What we do about it

We may remove content that breaks these rules. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks them seriously or more than once.

Changes

If these rules change, we'll update this page and the date below.
